Ingredients and fragrance
Where do I find the full ingredient list?
At ohmaker.ca/ingredients. Every ingredient is listed by name with its CAS registry number and what it does in the formula, for both versions of OHM Wash. The page is plain HTML and needs no login.
What is the difference between Fragrance Free and Fresh Linen?
Fragrance, and nothing else. Both versions use the same twelve-ingredient base formula. Fresh Linen adds a light fresh linen fragrance blend. Fragrance Free adds nothing.
My Fragrance Free carton mentions fragrance. Does the product contain fragrance?
No. That was a printing error on an earlier packaging run, and it does not describe the contents. OHM Wash Fragrance Free contains no fragrance blend, no essential oils, and no masking fragrance. The formula has not changed. If you have a carton like this, write to ohmfloss@gmail.com.
What is in the Fresh Linen fragrance?
The scent is a blend supplied to International Fragrance Association (IFRA) standards, and it appears on our ingredient list as Fragrance. IFRA publishes its standards and the industry transparency list of fragrance ingredients at www.ifrafragrance.org. If you need the blend broken down further for a specific allergy, write to ohmfloss@gmail.com and we will ask the supplier.
What is a CAS number and why do you publish it?
A CAS registry number is a unique identifier for a chemical substance. Ingredient names vary between suppliers and countries; the number does not. Publishing it means you can look any ingredient up in a public safety database without having to guess whether two names refer to the same thing.
I have sensitive skin. Which version should I choose?
Both versions are hypoallergenic and made for baby, kids and sensitive skin. Fragrance Free is the one most often chosen, because fragrance is the most common reason people avoid a detergent. We publish the full ingredient list so that anyone with a known sensitivity can check the formula against it before buying. If you have a diagnosed skin condition or a known allergy, check the list with your doctor rather than relying on the label.
Using OHM Wash
How many sheets per load?
The sheets are concentrated, so a regular load only needs half a sheet. Use a full sheet for a large load, and two full sheets for a heavily soiled one. That is how a 30-sheet pack covers up to 60 washes. Put it directly into the drum before the laundry, not into the dispenser drawer — the drawer is designed for liquid and the sheet can get stuck there.
Does it work in cold water?
Yes. The sheets dissolve fully in cold as well as hot water, so a cold cycle works normally.
Will it work in my machine?
OHM Wash works in top-load and front-load machines and is HE compatible.
Is it safe for septic systems?
Yes. OHM Wash contains biodegradable surfactants and is suitable for use with a septic system.
How should I store the sheets?
Reseal the carton and keep it somewhere dry. The sheets are designed to dissolve in water, so humidity will make them stick together. Keep them out of reach of children.
Certifications
What does the EPA Safer Choice label mean?
It means every ingredient in the formula has been reviewed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency against its Safer Chemical Ingredients criteria. It is a review of the ingredients in the product, run by the EPA, with published criteria. Part of the arrangement is that the manufacturer publishes the full ingredient list including CAS numbers — that is what the ingredients page is for. You can read the program criteria at epa.gov/saferchoice.
What does USDA Certified Biobased mean?
It reports the percentage of the product made from renewable biological material, measured by a standard test method rather than self-declared.

Buying and packaging
Where can I buy OHM earth products?
On Amazon, in the United States and Canada. This site does not sell directly and there is no plan to add a checkout. Links on each product page go straight to the listing.
How do I dispose of the packaging?
The OHM Wash carton is paper-based and recyclable in ordinary kerbside collection — flatten it first. There is no plastic jug or measuring cap to dispose of.
Something is wrong with my order. Who do I contact?
